I know I've been away folks but maybe this poem can help explain some of the reasons

    Loose lines
    are feeling
    abandoned.
    Crying words of joy
    are lost through
    electrical outputs
    and masses of people
    partying—
    Party on Dude!!!
“If you havin’ a good time,
    say: hell yea!”
    “For those who don’t curse,
    say: heck yea!”
    Perceptions of poets/poetry
    is being swallowed profusely
    through strong drinks,
    $5 open mics &
    slam competitions,
    placing reality on the blink—
    think,
    what is poetry???
    It’s read, it’s spoken,
    it’s written, & freestyle flowin’;
    poets come from everywhere
like Cosby kids and homes broken…
    Undefinable,
    between the lines
    of the illegible & illiterate
    causing tongue fumbles
in the eyes of the humble.
    Love this.
    Reality is now seen
on a 30 inch flat screen
    in high definition.
    Everyone’s pluggin’ it in,
    tune-in in, sittin’ down &
    enjoyin….
    60 minuets of reality,
    WHO WANTS TO BE…..
a millionaire, a survivor, an idol,
    AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL…
    hell, even a cop.
    B/C we’ll drop everything
    on the “to do” list,
to enlist ourselves in that long
    *** casting call line.
Hell I even took some time
cuzz I thought I could rhyme,
    but Russell said I was
    deaf.
    D E A F, not def.
Yes indeed, poets are on t.v.—
    live & HBO in person—
    Blah, blah, blah
w/ a couple of words defined as cursin’—
    oh. so that’s poetry.
No need to tell a story,
    just stream together
a couple of hot lines, make sure
    things rhyme; then breathe……
    You’ll be boxed & shipped,
waxed models made of your lips
    as overseas trips take you
    beyond the soul…..
    Where do poets
    for the sake of poetry
    go????

Life can take us many places, sometimes within ourselves, sometimes we take a giant step outside of ourselves. I enjoyed this piece poet, and it's so good to read you again.
