no, it does not. there is energy and there is matter.

How are you defining "matter" and "things"?

When I think of matter, it's not that particles don't exist but rather it is the field they generate that create the illusion of matter. Movement on different levels of reality... for example... the atom is mostly space and in that space you have electrons moving around a nucleus. So its not simply a physical thing, but rather a system of smaller things in motion. It is that motion that creates the larger effect. And once you get down the the quark level one of the most popular theories involves vibrating strings.

The simplest definition of energy is "the ability to do work". Energy is how things change and move. It's everywhere around us and takes all sorts of forms. It takes energy to cook food, to drive to school, and to jump in the air.

you can't really have "energy" if there are no "things" to change or move. But what is constant is that everything is made up of things made up of things made up of things that are moving. This is why I say everything is energy.

Q: Is it true that all matter is simply condensed energy?

The complete question was: Is it true that all matter is simply condensed energy? Does that mean that the Big Bang was pure energy and coalesced into matter?
Physicist: Pretty much. If you can get enough energy into one place (generally light or kinetic energy), then you’ll get a (mostly random) variety of particles popping out. The conversion between mass and energy is so ubiquitous in physics, that most physicists only know the mass of particles in the context of their equivalent energy. If you ask a physicist “what is the mass of an electron?” they’ll say “0.5 MeV” (which is a unit of energy).

water exists as a gas a liquid and a solid.
they are all H2O. no one form takes primacy over any other.

i could say that energy is simply diffuse matter.
