I watch my babies
sleeping,
precious like
newborn cherubs’ slumber,
fresh
from the Master’s Hand

my babies,
from my womb
my fruit…
my own

on loan

I smile at my babies
when they don’t
see me,

knowing that
no one
but God
loves them
more than I

hoping by my
example
they grow
to know
Him
personally

I pray for my babies
when they can
hear me

pleading on their
behalf, that they
begin to
understand
and know
God’s love is
truly all they
need

I hope my babies
develop
first love
relationships
with our Father
through His Son,
by The Spirit

for
they shall possess
the Master key,
unlocking the
door to life
everlasting...

on this narrow
road to victory

i saw

u standing in the hallway,
in the darkness, hands folded
at your breasts, feeling your heart
beating quickly, in silent prayer

i saw u standing, anointing the
doorposts of your babies so the angel
of death would pass over them, that
their breath would not return to God
this night

i saw you kneeling in the hallway,
weary from the day of labor
hands lifted, thankful
hands lifted, prayerful
hands lifted, careful

to give Him the praise
and begging for more strength
and His help to raise

His children

thank you for this peace, Alyce...hoping to hear you speaking poetry again, soon :)
