    I sit in complete silence
A horn honks at a child in the road
The brown brotha licks his lips
at the slanted eyed beauty as she passes
Anotha walks down the street pounding on his chest screaming,
“who else wants to **** with leroy brown”
    I sit here in silence
As two lovers share intimate moments
As a pimp slaps his bowlegged whore
As kids run and chase down the ice cream truck
As the neighborhood preacher starts another sermon on the corner
As Peewee and Lil Man run home to beat the streetlights
As too grown little girls switch their hips trying to entice
As fathers throw curve balls to their sons
I sit here in complete silence
As I sit and watch life

Life can be like that, the good, the bad, the in between...just, life. Good job painting this descriptive scene.

This poem brought back memories of losing a loved one, I was so hurt and at the window...and yes life was going on as usual, I learned a great deal while standing there in silence.
    thanks for sharing this.
