    {THE SNOWFALL OVER THE WEEKEND HAD ME THINKING AGAIN...}

    the leaves of autumn
    fell
    a whispered sound
    is neither heard nor felt
    as moisture-denied leaves
    touch the ground.

...there is a coolness in the air

    ever changing hues
dangling at the ends of limbs
    twirling
    'round
    and
    'round
    and
    'round

    as autumn leaves fall
    the morning's sunrise
    find them
    heaped {together}
    upon earthen floors
    soaked in evening's dew

as nightfall creeps along the edges of daylight
    the SUNLIGHT DRIED LEAVES
    stir
    feather soft breezes
lifting them off their hanging place
    ...they float
    effortlessly
    to the ground

mowing of the grasses had lessened
my enthusiasm for summer and spring
'til the raking of autumn's leaves came
    falling
    covering the grounds
    with varying hues of
    golds
    and
    browns
    leaving me
    in a state of hussy
at all the raking that must be
    done.

I LISTEN TO THE EVENING SOUNDS
    two after one
    they tumble down
    as howling WINDS
    takes more of my friends
    from their resting place

sunrise finds yet another barren tree
    NAKED
    devoid of clothing
    leafless
    victims of seasonal progression
as our procession through life's many lessons
teaches us that tomorrow isn't promised

in and out of leafless trees
    a winter's breeze sets in
    as snowdayz begin

    i find myself
    bundled up
in front of the fire place
    with a chocolate covered lover

the roar of the fire's blaze
    capture and holds my gaze
...my mind drifts further and further away
    longing for those youthful dayz
    of winter play

    O'KAY

    as i step back
    along life's path
of broken bones and belly laffs
when playing hard was all kids did
and nothing much was ever hid

    as snowflakes fall
    outside my window, today
    i walk memory's pathways
    along nature's way.

with different shades of green hues
    I THANK YOU

    with your essence

    the trees stand tall
    outside my windows world
    clothe in waving leaves
    that leaves me
    dreaming
    of yet another time

    all was well
in the eyes of those who
    like you
    said hello with a smile

    THANK YOU
