You look at us as if
We are creatures of the unknown
Focusing on our skin the color the tone
Are we so different,
Because we are black?
Or are you afraid of our minds
And don't know how to react
Afraid of our intellect
and the knowledge we obtain
Trying to limit our opportunities
Keeping us restrained
But we can not be held down
Always in pursuit of our golden crown
Leaving our mark up this great Earth
Showing what we are made of
Displaying our worth
Look at us and you will notice
That we are the same
Our skin is a different color
That can not be changed
Are we so different?
