this piece was actually written in response to a topic that my cousin gave me at a poetry jam session...the topic was "mixed emotions in a fish tank"...

The endless deep blues fuse into other hues
My vision is clouded and blurred by these monstrous tears
Thoughts and fears that are whirring and swirling
in a never ending whirlpool of circling grief
No plastic castle or rock to provide slight relief
Shades of waves on the earthless floor
Help me to center this chaos which i hate to adore
in this oval dome of unknown which haunts me evermore
a passing imprisoned partner paradoxically plays
on the ignorance of not being able to see better days
The tempests that angers the surface of this pool
Teaches me that disorder is the source of the devil's tools
The sun shines and it's beautiful yellow is turned bilious green
Highlighting the mournful waters which fatally attempt to be serene
Infinite whispers of prayers through the slits of my being
are seemlessly dismissed by the gods constantly disagreeing
Absorbed in this aquatic world where complex creations
are influenced by the most trifling and simple sensations
Every day the creator rains down on us blessings of plenty
The blessings drop...i gape to eat them...but i always come up empty...

This was so thoroughly descriptive, I could almost envision this underwater world, and feel the currents of tension. Flow on poet.
