    ANTIGUA
    (*(*(*(*(*(*

By the glow of its impassioned moon ~
Antigua, embodies the husbandry of slavery
Sugar mill hills glisten like relics
    Peopled by warm, classic specimens-
    That, which humanity cannot forget
    Abundant, sweet blackness
Adorn remnants of The King's English
Reminiscent of the stiffness of a colonialism
Envious of legitimate KINGS and QUEENS
    First cousin, face cards
    Everywhere,
The first man... and the second coming
    Antigua,
    A depository of captured fortitude
    Alive in the present day-
    Raw sugar cane,
The next bumper crop of ROYALS

    This is beautiful... absolutely.
It's as if Antigua could speak, it may say the words of this scribe in telling its own story. Your wording is excellent.
    ....so many ghosts.

I read this and am reminded
how this place has allowed me
to be in the presence of brilliant minds.
