Obama signs anti-BDS bill into law

President approves provisions making rejection of Israel boycott a key objective in trade talks with EU

    June 30, 2015

WASHINGTON — After a grueling legislative battle, US President Barack Obama signed into law a controversial trade measure that also contains landmark legislation combating the boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movement in Europe.
    ...

“This is an historic milestone in the fight against Israel’s enemies, as American opposition to insidious efforts to demonize and isolate the Jewish state is now the law of the land. The bipartisan bill enacted today conditions any free trade agreement with the European Union on its rejection of BDS,” said Rep. Peter Roskam, who, together with Rep. Juan Vargas sponsored one of two anti-BDS provisions in the law.

“This will force companies like telecom giant Orange, which is partially owned by the French government, to think twice before engaging in economic warfare against Israel. No longer will these companies be able to freely attack a key US ally without consequence,” he added.

Obama Signs Anti-BDS Trade Agreement Into Law
A similar trend ran through the UK, earlier this month, following British proposals to forbid a boycott of Israeli settlement goods by publicly-funded British institutions.

    February 29, 2016

Washington, DC– US President Barack Obama, this week, signed into law a sweeping trade agreement which protects Israel from boycott, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) by countries who oppose the ongoing military occupation of Palestine.

The agreement —H.R. 644: Trade Facilitation and Trade Enforcement Act of 2015— was passed 75-20, on February 11, and later signed into law by the president, on February 24.

The agreement, according to Ma’an News Agency, reiterates that US Congress “opposes politically motivated actions that penalize or otherwise limit commercial relations specifically with Israel,” referring specifically to BDS activities.

The act also cites that congress “supports efforts” to prevent international organizations or governments from carrying out investigation or prosecution of US citizens who do business with “Israel, with Israeli entities, or in any territory controlled by Israel.”

The provision, in effect, allows US citizens immunity from conducting trade with illegal Israeli settlements, while its terminology fails to distinguish Israeli settlements from the state of Israel.

This terminology conflicts with the US’ official line against settlements in occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank. But, the White House, earlier this month, said: “As with any bipartisan compromise legislation, there are provisions in this bill that we do not support.”

Georgia becomes 6th state to pass anti-BDS legislation

    March 28, 2016

WASHINGTON (JTA) — Georgia became the sixth state to pass a law targeting the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement against Israel, and the fifth to include settlements as protected from boycott.
    ...
Under the measure, the government is forbidden from contracting with individuals or companies that fail to certify for the pact’s duration that they are not boycotting Israel or businesses in Israeli-controlled territories.
    ...
States that have passed anti-BDS legislation over the last year include Georgia, Florida, Illinois, South Carolina, Indiana and Arizona. Indiana’s Republican governor, Mike Pence, signed his state’s legislation last week. All but South Carolina explicitly extend the anti-boycott protections to Israeli settlements.

This article below attempts to reveal the hypocrisy of those that support BDS ideas...

Boycott Israel? Yes! Iran, Sudan? Nah
WATCH: Israel boycotters in Ireland filmed agreeing to do business with human rights violators Sudan, North Korea and Iran

An American Jewish reporter secretly filmed three Irish retailers who boycott Israeli products agreeing to do business with Sudan, Iran and North Korea.
    ...
In a conversation with one Irish retailer in the food industry, Horowitz said he was representing a Sudanese chocolate maker. Confirming he has no moral objections to working with firms from Sudan, where the government has been accused of genocide, the retailer assured Horowitz his firm does not deal in Israel products.
    ...
The retailer remains unfazed when Horowitz tells him that Sudan is “well known for stoning women and gay people, but it’s so great that people can get past that.” He then adds that his company is “herbicide-free, pesticide-free, Jew-free.”

    http://www.timesofisrael.com/boycott-israel-yes-iran-sudan-nah/

Ignorance and media attention usually go hand and hand for many people.

Simply because people are not aware of the dynamics and issues within and around the world, doesn't necessarily mean if they are aware of a few they should them also be cognitive and aware of them all.

Boycott them all, and stop this "So what, they do it too" or "Their booger is bigger than ours" B.S.

Compare all of the above with what happened about 10 years ago...

The real goal of Israel’s Gaza blockade
    November 17, 2008

The latest tightening of Israel’s chokehold on Gaza — ending all supplies into the Strip for more than a week — has produced immediate and shocking consequences for Gaza’s 1.5 million inhabitants.

The refusal to allow in fuel has forced the shutting down of Gaza’s only power station, creating a blackout that pushed Palestinians bearing candles on to the streets in protest last week. A water and sanitation crisis are expected to follow.

And on Thursday, the United Nations announced it had run out of the food essentials it supplies to 750,000 desperately needy Gazans. “This has become a blockade against the United Nations itself,” a spokesman said.

In a further blow, Israel’s large Bank Hapoalim said it would refuse all transactions with Gaza by the end of the month, effectively imposing a financial blockade on an economy dependent on the Israeli shekel. Other banks are planning to follow suit, forced into a corner by Israel’s declaration in Sept 2007 of Gaza as an “enemy entity.”

There are likely to be few witnesses to Gaza’s descent into a dark and hungry winter. In the past week, all journalists were refused access to Gaza, as were a group of senior European diplomats. Days earlier, dozens of academics and doctors due to attend a conference to assess the damage done to Gazans’ mental health were also turned back.

    Consequences of the Blockade

The Blockade denies the Palestinians in the Gaza strip their basic human rights, in contradiction to international law. It severly obtructs their possibility to import and export merchandise and to travel in and out of their country. It denies them admittance to their agricultural land and fishing grounds. Added up, the Blockade is a form of collective punishment which deprive the inhabitants the possibility to support themselves, security of food supplies, medical care, education, drinkable water and cultural exchange.

Israel Apartheid? Palestinians to be banned from West Bank settlers’ buses

    Oct 26, 2014

Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon has decided Palestinians working in Israel should only be able to return home to West Bank via a single crossing and should not be allowed to ride the same buses as settlers.

Ya'alon issed a directive banning the workers from the buses during a meeting with settler leaders, who have long been seeking to ban Palestinians from Israel-run transportation in the West Bank, Haaretz reported on Sunday. The measure is scheduled to go into effect next month.

Palestinians won’t be able to take buses going directly from central Israel to the West Bank. They will instead have to use other types of transportation to arrive at the Eyal Crossing, near Qalqilyah.

‘This is apartheid!’ Israeli minister blasts bus segregation for Palestinians

    Nov 1, 2014

Requests for separate buses for Palestinians in Israel are “unacceptable” and resemble “apartheid,” the country’s Justice Minister said, adding that this kind of discrimination is banned by Israeli law.

“It’s intolerable, the claims that they [the settlers] need their own buses, because one [Palestinian] didn’t get up for a woman or an elderly person, and another wasn’t nice to them. This is apartheid!”
Israeli Justice Minister Tzipi Livni said.

Israeli government suspends Palestinian bus 'segregation' trial

    May 20, 2015

Israel has suspended new rules that would have had the effect of separating Palestinian and Jewish passengers on buses travelling to the West Bank.

The defence ministry launched a three-month trial on Wednesday morning, but within hours Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said it was "unacceptable".

Groups representing Jewish settlers have been campaigning for segregated travel on security grounds.

But human rights groups described the measures as shameful and racist.

So is Israel being so mean to Palestinians to even require them to take their own busses? Or, could it have something to do with the two buses in Israel that were blown up recently by Palestinian suicide/ regular bombers? I'm surprised that Israel is still allowing Palestinian people to continue to work inside Israel at all. Nobody knows who is going to kidnap Israeli teens to burn them to death, or lob missiles into Jerusalem, and bomb shopping mauls. Israel has to live with constant attacks from Palestine. One never knows if when grandma goes to the store if she is going to get to come home or get blown to bits at a grocery mart. Israel has to remain ever vigilant and narrowing the entry into Israel is one way of preventing mass murders by the palestinians who cannot even go two weeks in an official peace treaty.

Israel retaliates, they don't do aggressive sneak attacks with a desire to destroy as many innocents as possible, where the people are the target. Palestine doesn't need to put their soldiers at a gate to keep Israeli suicide bombers out. Israel doesn't have suicide anything.

PS. I can see why Jewish passengers wouldn't trust Palestinians on the bus with them. Wouldn't that be like accepting candy from a smile with fangs? What's race got to do with it? They are all Semite tribes.

    US pResidential approach on Israel/Gaza...

The above video could have been titled:

"Obama Administration Refuses to Condemn Palestinians and Israelis for Wave of Terrorism"

But since pro-Israel/British lobbies are deep and wide, the questions are usually leaning towards this scenario.

    • Condemnation of Palestinians
    • Dissatisfaction with Israeli actions

Not wanting to appear to take sides, though actions speak as to what side they support.

How dare someone label them as "terrorists"

    upload_2016-4-25_10-24-45.png
Everything above is terrorism, but when one claims to be having a war against "Terrorism", one has to claim they are not the one doing the terrorizing.

The creation of the "Suicide Bomber" is an imaginary perpetuation use to create an antagonist that cannot talk, until they release a memo claiming they did it.

How do suicide bombers claim credit for the bombs?

They can't, others have to do it on their behalf... their handlers within the Black Op (Covert Operation within Secret Intelligence and Actions Agencies).

If only one would go back in time to when I.S.I.S. was established, and why many try to rename it to I.S.I.L. in order to mask the obvious agency connections.

British special forces caught dressed as Arab 'terrorists'

    [IMG] upload_2016-4-25_10-34-10.png

British soldiers have been caught posing as Arabs and shooting Iraqis in the occupied city of Basra in southern Iraq. A group of them was caught yesterday by Iraqi police. They were driving an Iraqi car, wearing Arab clothing, and carrying weapons and explosives.

The Iraqi police were patrolling the area looking for suspected "terrorists" or "insurgents", and they noticed that the men were acting suspiciously. Suddenly, without warning, the suspicious men started shooting at people, but the new Iraqi security forces managed to capture some of them before they could escape. Obviously, if these men had not been caught, the mass media would now be reporting the incident as just another attempt by evil "terrorists" to create civil war in Iraq.

British tanks storm Basra jail to free undercover soldiers

British troops used tanks last night to break down the walls of a prison in the southern Iraqi city of Basra and free two undercover British soldiers who were seized earlier in the day by local police.

    upload_2016-4-25_10-36-40.png

An official from the Iraqi interior ministry said half a dozen tanks had broken down the walls of the jail and troops had then stormed it to free the two British soldiers. The governor of Basra last night condemned the "barbaric aggression" of British forces in storming the jail.

Aquil Jabbar, an Iraqi television cameraman who lives across the street from the jail, said dozens of Iraqi prisoners also fled in the confusion.

Comparison to an eye witness account of the Paris attacks...

Shocking details of the bloody attack came as France remained on high alert while special forces continued to hunt for members of the terror cell.

ISIS claimed responsibility for the sickening attacks which have killed at least 127 people and left up to 60 more seriously injured.

A shocking description of the assassins and their barbaric assault came as the first eyewitness accounts emerged last night.

Mahoud Admo said: “The gunman showed no emotion at all as he began spraying bullets into the diners. He just kept reloading his machine gun and firing, without saying a thing.

(rearranged for purposes of easy reading, full article will be linked below)

The attack at Le Belle Equipe took place shortly after the first of three explosions rocked the Stade de France, where the host nation was playing against Germany.

Mr Admo, 26, who was staying at the Salvation Army hostel in Rue de Charonne opposite the Le Belle Equipe, told how gunmen executed patrons in a drive-by attack.

Trembling as he recalled how the massacre unfolded, he said: “I was just in my room and had the window open on to the street below.

"I could see lots people sat outside the bar eating dinner and enjoying a drink. The place was full of people just enjoying themselves.

“At about 9.30pm a new looking black Mercedes pulled up outside with dark tinted windows at the back and the passenger and driver windows down. I could clearly see the passenger’s face as he was not wearing a hat or mask.

“As soon as the car stopped he quietly opened the door and got out in front of the restaurant.

“That is when I saw he was holding a machine gun that was resting on his hip. I could not take in what I was witnessing.

“People outside spotted the shooter approaching with his gun and tried to run inside but he shot them down in the doorway.

“Then people inside moved forward to see what was happening and he sprayed more bullets into them. I was trying to catch them on my camera phone but the gunman saw the light on my mobile and I ducked down behind the wall as they fired at my hotel. The gunman calmly reloaded his weapon several times. He then shot up at the windows in the street to make sure nobody was filming anything or taking photographs. It lasted over six minutes

“He fired lots of bullets. He was white, clean shaven and had dark hair neatly trimmed. He was dressed all in black accept for a red scarf.

“The shooter was aged about 35 and had an extremely muscular build, which you could tell from the size of his arms. He looked like a weightlifter.

“He was not wearing gloves and his face was expressionless as he walked towards the bar.

“The driver had opened his door shortly before the shooting began and stood up with his arm and a machine gun rested on the roof of the car. He stood there with his foot up in the door acting as a lookout.

“I would describe him as tall, with dark hair and also quite muscular.

“They looked like soldiers or mercenaries and carried the whole thing out like a military operation. It was clear that they were both very heavily armed and the gunman was carrying several magazines on him.

“They both then coolly sat back in the car and sped off in the direction of the Bataclan Theatre.”

Mr Admo added: “After about five minutes the police and ambulances arrived. There were about 20 bodies lying dead outside the bar and all the windows around were cracked from bullets. It was sickening. You could see where people had been shot.

CAMPAIGN '08: RACE FOR THE WHITE HOUSE

Allies of Palestinians see a friend in Obama
They consider him receptive despite his clear support of Israel.
    April 10, 2008

CHICAGO — It was a celebration of Palestinian culture -- a night of music, dancing and a dash of politics. Local Arab Americans were bidding farewell to Rashid Khalidi, an internationally known scholar, critic of Israel and advocate for Palestinian rights, who was leaving town for a job in New York.

A special tribute came from Khalidi's friend and frequent dinner companion, the young state Sen. Barack Obama. Speaking to the crowd, Obama reminisced about meals prepared by Khalidi's wife, Mona, and conversations that had challenged his thinking.

Okay a little common sense reasoning: I like this above statement, "When (Israel, British forces and American forces) are having a war against Terrorism, one has to claim they are not the one doing the Terrorism." So in other words Israel should just let the bombers over run their country without response in kind? Because Israel should not protect their people? Because Jews do not have a right exist, but should accept genocide or slavery of their women by the Palestinians? If Israel wanted to they could totally melt down all of the Palestinian nation in an all out war. But, they don't do it. They put up with daily threats and attacks trying to control the situation at their borders. Still there are many Palestinians within Israel, to arrange suicide bombings, shooting down of guards and people even with in the State and when Israel responds, that of corse is going create collateral death and damage inside Palestine. But, we have strange internet condemnation of Israel for this, as if an enemy of Western Democracy is seeking to warp these events in the Middle East as our fault. And do you see how these videos and editorials attending them are twisted to condemn Americans? So you better believe if the Palestinians were on our borders we would be the victims of the next door military attacks and Terrorists more than just one day of 911 towers.

So does anyone here believe that America should not have intelligence ops with our allies regarding what Israel is going through with the war Palestinian Terrorists are waging? And doesn't America and Britain both have to protect us in the Middle East to prevent any of that from coming here again, other than the traitors within this country who manage to shoot the unsuspecting already.

Ask yourself this: Why would the Iraq police/military find the British allies undesirable? Because the Iraqi enforcement have evil intent toward the rest of us.

Why would anyone refer to the Mossad as "flamboyant" if they actually are SECRET service? So that was a mal-intent talking who cannot be trusted in what he says against Democratic nations.

And to suggest that Israel is ISIS we all know is ridiculous when the majority of the Arab States would like to see Israel blown off the map, particularly the Islamist radical killer ISIS. You see what is being adding up to in what those videos are as interpreted commentary in insinuations.

The USA exchanges intelligence between our allies and PM Netanyahu which "Mutually strengthen the security of both countries."

The term "barbaric British forces storming jail" to rescue two British soldiers out of it, rather makes them heroes considering who the Iraqi forces are -- more radicals. It makes one wonder who the other prisoners were, more unfortunate Iraqis fighting for independence from radical Wannabes.

Whose really "Imperialist?" Definition: extending a grab for territory and the wealth that goes with it. ISIS and that ilk as they drive through destroying people, taking over regions with the intent to move through having a goal for world dominance not just regional dominance of people and cities. What would you call this? Killing to destroy free agency of people or put them into slavery.

Here is a profile of modern slavery: Nigerian Terrorists, Boko Haram, meaning "Western education is forbidden." In case we aren't clear on what Terrorism is, here's a tidbit. Sending drugged children out as explosives. The leader of this group says, "There is a market for selling humans. I sell women. Allah told me to sell women (and little girls)" And evidently to kill women, not just christian but Muslim as well. Also to burn African villages to the ground and pile up the masses of bodies. Now, he says he wants to "comfortably confront America. Isn't that Imperialist? The new modern order of slaves Africans by African Boko Haram. Boko Haram has become an official affiliate of ISIS. We need to focus on what is coming. We are going to see change in the world and in America. I think we will long for what we had even ten years ago in this country. Already there is loss of freedom for general families, loss enlarging regarding religion, loss of perspective in the education departments. And, an effort to redirect your knowledge of what is right and what is true, veiled behind other agendas.
