the near north
In another time
…another life

We were lovers

Like the ocean
Caressing the sands of its shore

We’d be good like that.

In another time
A deeper, richer time

When people did what they’d say
And “I LOVE YOU” meant more than
PHYSICAL INTIMACY

I would have loved you…

In another time
…another place
When word was bond
And honor traced the steps our lives would take

An older time

When men stood in the presence of a lady
And you brought flowers to dinner
Wine…on Sundays
And, chocolates on fun days

You know

The way your grandparents did it
When they {courted}

I would have loved you
In that way

When walks by the lake were all you had to do
And a squeeze of the hand said;

I LOVE YOU

Yes…that time.
You know
Skinny dipping
While tripping over modesty
Trying hard to make sure
Her eyes weren’t sipping too much of me
{yet, hoping she did.:)}

YEAL.

YEAL.

I would have loved you
In the evening shadows
When the flowers lost their full bloom
I would have showered you with saucy love
From head to toe
Stirring the heat of you

That’s what I’d do

In another time.
