Where the Niger meets the Nile
I'm Flabberghasted

I propose that we all write a letter to whoever has the authority to fire this woman and demand that it be done, pdq. Also write letters to the school board and the mayor letting them know our opinion and letting them know that this situation has already known around the nation (don't have to say you saw it on Destee) so there is no point in trying to cover it up.

My ex and I sent my daughter to a good school where the principal and vice principal were both black women. My daughter did very well at that school and I wish she could've stayed, but they (my daughter and ex) moved to another city. I don't know if it was the principal and vice principal directly, but having them at the top put my mind at ease. I wish there were more schools like that for our children. My daughter missed the age minimum for the school by a couple of months, and they interviewed her and let her in the school, even though she was a little too young. My point is, we understand ourselves and we care more about ourselves than other races. I doubt this would've happened if this lady had a black authority figure to answer to. White peole do this because they know most white people have the same racist thoughts. This lady should be in jail for child abuse.

Agreed Fanyamambo, my wife eats certain foods (rice for example) with her hands. That particular custom should not be associated with being uncivilized. In term of this teacher, she felt that these Haitian children were animals, and she could have chosen a number of things to humilate them. Making them eat with their hands was simply the 1st thing that came to her mind, so could have just as easily make them strip naked. The point is that she was harboring these feelings towards these black children, and expressed them with this incident. This was not a moment of anger/passion. These feelings were always there & we do not need people who feel this way teaching black children!

Sister Fan, and Brother Pan, thanks for the reminder!(smile!)

My eldest sister always swept her greens up with a handful of corn or pan bread...(smile!) The tradition, no doubt!

As Dr. Ben would say, what the hell is civilization anyway, but people living in cities(Latin Meaning)

It's been a good while, but this place has always been home. Thankful to be here.
Hi! I'm not as active on this account as I want to be. For one I tend to forget that this site exists until I check my email. Two, I'm currently in the process of building up a fine art site for Oklahoma black and native historical references. The references correlate with another site that will be a storytelling site that has not yet been produced.
Happy to be back and gaining more knowledge!
