    In the Spirit of Racism,

Oops, they pulled it down Framily, or it may have to do with the cuss word in the source link. So enjoy the snippet and/or google the title.

Another All-White Oscars? This Is ...

Last year was the whitest Oscars in two decades, sparking wild outrage. This year, it’s the same situation. Why the white-washed, male-dominated Oscars really, well, just sucks.

... This year the joke is no longer funny.

In a year when diversity, representation, opportunity, and normalization was the driving conversation of show business—and rightfully so—we can now say that this is the whitest Oscars ever. If you’re looking for a benchmark, this is the whitest Oscars since last year. Isn’t that disgusting?

Not a single acting nominee this year is a person of color ...

I don't care about the Oscars, but I get the feeling they did this (again) just to get people talking about and watching the Oscars. Seems to be working.

That makes at least two (2) Desteeonians that feel the same way about the Oscars, and I'm sure there are more that could care less about white theater. But the feeling I get from all this, is that systemic/institutional racism is showing its ugly face once again, smh.

I honestly think they're just using racism to get people going on about what everyone seemed to be losing interest in. People will tune in just to see what Chris Rock will say about this second year of Oscars white out. A lot of people are talking about what needs to be done, when we know(or should know), they know these things, but don't care if it ain't getting them ratings.

Just paraphrasing your words (we have the Quotes), you seem to be saying "some power that be" decided to again shun Black actors, writers, etc..., in order to improve the Oscars' rating. And that folk will tune in to see what Chris Rock has to say about it.

Well, it worked, they will get high ratings I'm sure, as people continue to talk about their shameful acts against Blacks and folk of color, and await to see if Chris will say anything, at all.

Meanwhile Black actors are used as guinea pigs, once again.

    Exactly.

    Indeed it has worked.

True. But black people should really take the time to wonder why they need white people's thumbs up toward any of their work.

Especially when the Academy has a long running history of racism.
