…following His plan. The peace, the love, I have come to find once more…a feeling I can’t even begin to explain…but will share. I write love poetry, sad poetry, just poetry and write for it is my freedom…Many of our ancestors did not have this beauty of freeing thier mind in poetry or just to sit and write there thoughts. They didn’t have the privilege of going to school or learning how to read and/or write it is part of my gift…I have learned once more to pray, write, listen and watch.

    The tide is growing…
And my faith is battling a storm
    That has weighed me down
My tears flowing like a river…
    But I won’t complain

For God have brought me through the flood
That had claimed me….and took my soul.

    I share this with you…
For it is someone who feels
    Lonely and discourage…

    I felt smothered buried alive
    Walking in the dark…
    Different from all others
    Thinking all was lost
    The only thing was lost
    …was me…
Because I see it is others
    ….like me

One day he took my hand
Lead me to the opening doors
    …….of church once more
    I cried like a baby…hurting deep inside
A place I didn’t want to be in.
    My God!! My God!!
    Brought me out…

I didn’t want to climb the mountain
I didn’t want to go through the storm
    I didn’t want to give up…
Just didn’t know how to fight the battle
My trails took a toll on me…
    I would try and try
My back was finally against the wall

    But he took my hand
Lead me to the opening doors
    …. of church once more
    I cried like a baby…hurting deep inside
A place I didn’t want to be in.
    My God!! My God!!
    Brought me out…

Finally, I realized God didn’t lose me
I lost God…I walked in the dark
    Thinking I was alone… I wasn’t
He didn’t bring me this far
    …. to just leave me
    That storm made me stronger
    Each storm I go through
Brings me to a new level
    Of my walk….

    For now I know
He didn’t give me my gift…
    To hide…..
    I see within
For I see before it comes
    I feel the nations pain
    I feel yours too
    I hear cries at night

I was told to come tell you
Prayer is not only wishing or asking,
    But believing and accepting.
    JOY comes in the morning
    Your midnight is over
    For your season have began…

    And he helps me bring
    You to light…once more

    He took my hand…
And he will take yours too
    ….Do you believe?

A heartfelt testimony that God is always there, we just need the courage to believe, and the faith to trust.
