Pushkin’s daughter Marya Hartung. Anna Karenina was based on this Black woman’s life.

Marya Hartung, Pushkins daughter. Now we here know his daughter could never be white, as both father and mother had a dark brown complexion.

I bought a dvd of Anna Karenina, played by Helen Crory, who I had admired in a series of Charles II Stuart. A marvellous actress. But now I’m obliged to read the book finally after an unsuccessful attempt about 35 years ago, and then again in 2011. I never saw so many counts, and princes in one go, so I realised they were written as brown and black complexioned nobles. Anna Karenina seemed to be inspired by a daughter of Alexander Pushkin who Tolstoy once had met. So there we go…Pushkin drew his mother-in-law with a very black face. Of interest is that this book came after the French Revolution, and is romantic in tone. The revolutionaries wanted to get away from anything Ancien Regime. So this is what we should be looking for. But the elite was still very much brown and black of complexion.

They might go and read Tolstoy, and Pushkin and be well read and civilized, relishing the idea she is black, and noble. Reaching for a higher star. I have a museum, and nobody will hate a white man if he had a museum, so why should Blacks find faulth in that. Museums are a fact of life and they are about history.

A niece of Marya, a granddaughter of Pushkin married a son of the Czar. Pushkin's widow was chummy with the Czar.
A greatgranddaughter married a grandson of Queen Victoria.
As most people accept Pushkin was Black, we can show that the history of Blacks is much more then only slavery.
You made it to Engeland, your parents, or grandparents perhaps never left their town or village.
    So we are making progress.
But if my child is cholicky, I will contact you for a cure,
but if its about Tolstoy, Pushkin or Jane Austen:
    I will not trouble you.
At your age you should know not to meddle in stuff you know nothing about.
    This is not an insult,
this is a simple fact of life.

[Edna Adan Ismail, former first lady of Somalia]

I believe in looks Marya Pushkina could have resembled her. All her recent ancestors were brown and black skinned Russian aristocrats, her mother 'La Belle Creole' chummy with the Czar too, who bailed her out of debts, when Pushkin had died.

Some confusion where from Africa Abraham Hannibal came from, Logon, was first situated in East Africa, net West Africa, and the status of his father in Africa.
