She was sexy, standing there, long brown hair falling down
I knew I wanted her the first time I saw her
we were talking, laughing, havin' fun, doin' the dance
before it was over I knew she'd be mine
too much to drink as the night wore on, we left together
a night of passion, heated, sexual, felt so good
In the early morning light she crawled from my bed and left
but she left a part of herself behind for me to keep
    A.nd I.'m D.ying S.lowly

Shooting up, leaving reality behind, just for a little while
no harm done, just a quick trip through the stars
vivid colours everywhere, floating in the space around me
cool music, loud, playing continuously in my brain
an array of magic on the coffee table in front of us
he comes over every now and then when he's in town
always makes sure the needles are clean, magic's top grade
recreational fun for the night, no hassle, just chillin'
    A.nd I.'m D.ying S.lowly

Broken glass and tangled mess, car's a total wreck
a young guy lies beside it, not moving
he's bleeding profusely from multiple wounds
life ebbing away as people stand and watch, helpless
I ran from my car and knelt by his side, checking his vitals
took control and tried to do what I could to save him
on my way home from the hospital, just finished my shift
in a rush, I forgot about the small cut on my hand, no gloves
    A.nd I.'m D.ying S.lowly

Pushed me into the world from a diseased body, newborn baby
rushed away and put into a glass cage to protect me
no drugs they can put into my tiny body will help me
they will only prolong the agony, that will come
my life is over before it's begun
    another victim, another unwanted pregnancy
I wonder if she ever thought about what she was doing
she had no right to bring me into this world, it's so unfair
    A.nd I.'m D.ying S.lowly

    k.

you're bring'n TRUTH to the table. so many ways for us to die slowly...tragically...painfully. the pity of it is that it doesn't have to be that way.

thanks for the reminder...that life is worth more than a moment's pleasure.

baller....thank you for the read and the words...as you say, it's the truth, it's out there, and we need to take notice, because this visitor never leaves...all it takes it one act of carelessness...

DSSNY...thanks for the read...and I think we can never hear this message too many times..

Reason...thank you...I know it's a subject that has been discussed over and over, but in reality it's here to stay, so we shouldn't let down our guard....
