disclaimer:this piece I wrote for a young woman who was having problems with her baby's daddy not treating her right... unfortunately the poem didn't have any affect on his heart or mind...

    And I Wait

    I’ve been waiting
    day in day out,
    I have been waiting,
You ask “what I’m waiting for?”
    Now don’t start me off...
    I have been waiting,
    awaiting a change
    a metamorphosis of form.
    You’ve become one
    complacent,
    unmotivated,
    dysfunctional yet
    regarding relationships.
    And yet I’m waiting.

You entered my heart years ago
filled my days with joy and pleasure
satisfied I was with the things you offered.
And yet I’ve waited for you to grow into this thing we have.
    but you’ve regressed.
    Progressive steps is what
    lets love grow.
You’ve turned love into a mockery
Taking you are, the life right out me.

    And I’m here waiting.
    I’ve been waiting
    day in day out,
    I’m waiting.
My love cannot be given out and received
without giving back the love I deserve.
You know that love cannot be just a one way street.
I’m a person who truly needs love
    coupled with warm affection,
cause love and affection go hand in hand.
    And I’m still waiting.

    And I’m here waiting.
    I’ve been waiting
    day in day out,
    I’m waiting.
Thinking, “do you know what you want?”
    I know my wants intimately,
    I’ve pondered them many days
    and endless nights.
    I hoped that maybe
one day you’d meet my expectations
    meet my qualifications.
    And I’m still waiting.

    And I’m here waiting.
    I’ve been waiting
    day in day out,
    I’m waiting.
Questioning, “do you know what a relationship is about?”
    a relationship is trust,
    love,
    communication,
    coupled with tender loving care.
confiding with me your intimate mate,
the very thoughts of your heart.
    See, I don’t read minds
I need to know more than the fact
    that you care.
    If you really care
you must prove yourself worthy of my love.
    Touch me with your heart.
    Express yourself to me.
Just your presence doesn’t say enough.
I’m not asking for a ring on my finger...
    (although that would be nice.)
    All I ask for
    when it comes to love
you need to think and act right.
    Think about my feelings
    Think of our children.
Think of times of loves long past.
    Think of my love...
    Cause I’m still waiting,
    I’ve been here waiting
    day in day out,
    I’m waiting.
    And I Wait....
    BUT NOT FOREVER

This reminds me of what I was going through. Waiting and waiting with no response. So I finely gave up. Leting it go, now I feel more happy then anything. Free to do Whatever I want.
    Very tight.
    One!
