Where are my radical friends?
What happened to their eyes?
The eyes that once saw
unfairness, bias and neglect, now
see only victims, and social burdens.
Lasiks destroyed peripheral vision.
Like Bother Eldridge, they got saved
and the burden has fallen to Jesus.
Sunday morning parades show their
righteousness through checkbooks,
but while Brother Eldridge barbeques,
the rest twist on the grill of poverty
and despair wondering if the friends
of the community died, or just got rich.

Perhaps if you ask Brother Eldridge
would you do it again? would you
proclaim violence? Would you do
behaviors of youth in your old age?
Would turn down the blessings of old
age for the curses of youth?

The blood, the death, the struggle
would you desire it back?

Amun-Ra, Perhaps Brother Eldridge would say "Hot eternal fire" NO!!!!!

Thank your Poem
You made me think
I don't want me youth back
