Black Relationships : An Abundance Of Queens

Well

I really feel what you are saying but IMHO you left one thing out. The African/Black woman did not get this way on her own. The Willie Lynch Letters explains in detail the system used to cause this chaos. Constant conditions have produced an effect that will take 100's of yrs to fix.

Nasheed, you are so sweet, thank you for your humble opinion. I didn't mention Willie Lynch letter because I didn't want to place blame on Willie nor white people. We black people who go around preaching that we are Kings and Queens, They already have knowledge of what white people did and what the Willie Lynch letter said so they don't need a white peoples or Willie lynch 101 refreshers class. I only wanted to get black women to see that if they are going to run around hollering "I am the Queen and I am the giver of life", they need to be acting that way instead of talking that way. In other words, talk is cheap. A black Queen should know how to get a black man to respect her and acknowledge her as a Queen without all the lip service. If a black man does not treat the black woman right, it is because the black woman allows the black man to treat her dirty. I understand what you are saying, I mentioned Willie Lynch in the "Origins and endings of Self Hate" thread. The reaction from people, from what I could see was, heard that before. What are we Queens going to do about Willie Lynch and white people? That is the question. We can't sit around hollering out "I am the black woman, I am the Queen" Yet placing blame on white people for why are men are acting up and treating us Zhity. We are the Queens, so what are we going to do to fix the problems we have with our men?

The cycle of madness must be broke. When it comes to grown men, I dont know if you can do anything about it. It would appear to me the damage is already done and it is up to the individual man to change but I will give it some thought. I was raised and trained to treat women like they were objects. At a tender age (5) I was taught that women were evil and not to be trusted. Always have 3 or more just in case one was trippin. I could go on and on about what I was told by the men in my family, most of who were drug dealers, pimps, and womanizers. I was damaged goods as you can imagine. It wasnt until the birth of my son that I saw things different. I refused to pass to him the pain and guilt that I carry er-day from the nonsense I was taught and the pain that I have caused. So I made a change.
What Sistah's can do is to teach their sons at all cost the right way. No matter who tells them what you teach, remember, you are the 1st teacher of the child and the 1st god they will know. IMHO

Peace

My dear Brotha, we know what needs to be done, but before we can begin to even come up with a way on how to initiate a plan towards what needs to be done, we need to uncover the problem and see it for what it is. This thread is dedicated to the Queens

The Queens who wish to be aknowledged as a Queen, need to realize a few things, such as, a Queen has two sides, her positive energy side and her negative energy side. Right now, the African/Black Queens of today, not many of them are operating out of their positive energy.

Can you please, if you have any stories, share with us what a Queen has taught you in the present and the past. As sweet as you are, I know you don't want to hurt anyones feelings and I especially know that if there is any peace, you don't want to disturb it. I said all of that to say this, there is a way to be honest/truthful, even when the truth hurts. It's called being objective. So brotha if you will, please share with us what a Queen has taught you, in the past and the present. What has she taught you, good or bad.

Can't wait to hear your response...

The Movie Is Called Queen... So Fitting

There is so much symbolism in this movie to compare to how black men and women suffer.

In this particular episode, Queen seeks out love after being rejected by her white father and after her mother dies, she really has no one left to give and show her love. Before her mother died, she showed Queen lots of love but Queen wanted love from a man so desperately....

A part of her knows that the black man does not want to be tied down, and with good reason so she wants his child. We see this everday in the black community. Young black girls knowing they can't have the man, so they settle for having his child which is a piece of him, and that piece of him will lover her.
