Behind the walls of a
five bedroom brownestone
she started out
by taking in twenty-two

She said ..."God kept sending them"

He opened a way for her
to make it through
sending her to purgatory
to bring back little souls
and to return them to health
Those small innocent souls
had suffered the affects
of young drug-addicted mothers
...children who would have
otherwise died without the
love, nurturing and assistance
that she provided
This black woman must have
been an angel
but to me
Mother Hale
is an American Hero
