    What would you do
if you ever saw them again?
You haven't seen these children in...
Well, you know how many years it's been
I know they aren't young any more
    but they're still your seeds
    Both have developed tough skin
but an unhealed wound still bleeds
You would be so proud of them
how they have gone on despite it all
Your daughter so responsible and supportive
Your warm and giving son has grown so tall
I know you think that the only way to save
yourself, was to get the hell out
but I know that is not the lesson that you
want your kids to learn about
rather the morals and upstanding teaching
that you used to show that helped them grow
and I do remind them, so that they know
that you will always love them so.
    But, sometimes it's hard
    so in this regard
    I have to wonder....
    What would you do
if you ever saw them again?

i guess i cant really see your exact view, because I am the child, I still enjoyed the poem, because in a way it's comforting to know when a parent is worried, or making themselves vulnerable in a sense, for the child.

    Hopefully the child realizes this.

    really liked this prose

    keep the flow goin

What he should do is  at your feet, for the Queen Warrior that you are.
He need to take a  ...for the "two" parents you was left to be, and proudly.
And there will come a day, when just a glass of water, will save his life...
...and they will save him...but, hmmm...
What would he do, when he see them?

Thank you 1poet. Hopefully most of the fathers reading this won't see themselves brotha.
Rich, some questions just lead to more questions, you never really expect an answer, but you wonder. Thank you for your support.
Prizefighter, it's nice to hear the point of view of a young person. I think when an older child can see that a parent is vulnerable enough to feel pain, but strong enough to still be a parent, then they are okay. Thank you for your response.
Perhaps the conscience forms its own tatoo Khasm, thank you for responding so.
That was truly kind of you to say queent, and I appreciate it. Your response truly leaves me with something to think about, and thank you for that.
Miss-no-love, I think there are some things we do, that changes the image we see of ourselves forever. Thank you for your response.
