All I Ever Wanted...

All I ever wanted
Was to
Love somebody
With chocolate-covered hearts
On St. Valentine's Day
With my heartstrings
Playing violins
Each and every day
To make paper airplanes
To bridge the gap
Between the distance
Of our separate pathways

And all I ever wanted
Was to

Lie down quietly
Besides you
And watch you sleep
While you tamed
The night noises
Underneath the sheets
To find the missing stars
Underneath your eyelids
And tell the universe
About your hidden treasures

And all I ever wanted
Was to

Lock myself inside
Your right palm
Then throw away the keys
To this secret passage
Grab hold of your insides
Hold your heart hostage
And never let you go

And I wanted you

To find me there
Somewhere
Anywhere
Over here

In your corner
