AIDS Cases Rise As Safe Sex Drops

Posted July 29, 2003 – Newly released AIDS statistics suggest that safe sex is on the decline.
For the first time in a decade, the number of new AIDS cases appears to be on the rise,
according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Early findings by the Atlanta-based agency show the number of Americans with AIDS jumped 2.2 percent in 2002. If confirmed, the increase would be the first since 1993.
