I....I..
…trying to think up things to say
Trying to hold on to the light
Darkness falls
all around me stillness sits’
with age you pay a price

Things go
Slowly
Crossword puzzles
help to keep the mind afloat
Books and plays
And even jumping rope
But
Darkness sits

Moments like these
Only fingers punching out the keys
Emotions
somehow
Detached
The chaotic brain
No more a myriad of thoughts
One word at a time
One thought sometimes rhyme
in this
Abyss…this blankness
I search

Before
make every inch dark
let the mind meditate
Let all thoughts erase
But now
Wanting
a flicker of light
Wanting a brightness
words , pictures
wanting....

Quiet

Only the machine drones in my ear
Alone
Without a tear
It seems without a care
In this
Dry
Empty
Space
where
Darkness grows
