Age Defined (Part 2)

With age time flows faster now
With every passing day the clock
Seems to become no longer my
Friend but my enemy for it forces
The years to slip away

In my younger days all my hopes
And dreams seemed attainable
But as the years crept so did
Some of the dreams like sand
Castles that didn’t care they
Dissolved right in the air

I use to move as fast as the wind
Dance with a swing just as sassy
As I was at the age 10 Then the
Weariness and apathy soon became
To be the norm, I learned to weather
The storms

The time is but a horse like a
Carousel that I can ride to my
Journeys end, as I wait for my
Old age to begin

I seem to have joy even in
Adversity, it makes my heart
Grow fussy and warm. Bringing
The peace and comfort of yesterday
To a soul besieged by a terrible storm

I can not deny these new stages
Of time, I can just concur that
It’s just my age defined
