Hello Family,

In an effort to lift up that which has been held down way too long, i thought it would be good if we named the DARK BLACK PEOPLE that we know of. These people represent those of us who are most impacted by institutionalized racism. Please name those who are in the media, or well known to most.

Will yall help?

One person that comes to my mind is Yaphet Koto. He's an actor, that i remember first seeing in a Big Valley eposide. I fell in love with him immediately.

Another that comes to mind, is Judge Mablean Ephriam. Now, she's not as dark as Black folk come, but she's much darker than most other Sisters allowed on television these days. Unfortunately, we will only see her in re-runs, as i understand she lost her job on the show. She's been replaced by the lighter Judge Lynn Toler.

What other Dark Black People can we lift up in this thread? The darker the better!

Please include a link to a picture of them.

Thanks! :)

I thought we were celebrating ALL African folks at this website... I didn't know that if you were dark-skinned, your deserved special considerations, and now I feel resentful because I am not dark... Who here's my pain as a brownskinned African man in this soceity... Certainly not the pampered Dark-Skinned African people of America:injured:

Peace!

Brother Isaiah ... you can start a thread celebrating whomever you please, but don't come in this one causing a disruption. If you have some DARK BLACK PEOPLE you wanna lift up, do that ... otherwise ... don't take this thread off topic. Start a new one to whine and cry about your pain.

It's funny how some black people can acknowledge a difference in hues as if there is a difference that for what ever reason needs to be acknowledged, yet constanlty group responsible and law abiding black people with prison scum and other irresponsible black losers as if we are all the same.
