    AfterParty

This year was a hard one, a lot went on
On my left, trying to right from wrong

I took a lot of hits, is it all behind
A year of college left, 5 years of grinding

But who’s to say, they’ll jam my ghetto instrumental
Would I be a force to be reckoned or just detrimental?

Every time I see a homeless man, selling newspapers
He slips under the intersection, hides his face with folded papers

And flyers, knows everything that goes on
Is he inhuman, why don’t I talk to him as life flows on?

    Like a crescent wave, tsunami
It’s a lot of children in the world saying mommy

In the heat of the night, it gets cold
    What does the future hold?

    Most of the story told
About robbed African riches and gold

Suffering across the globe, I wish I could strobe
Light the scene; give a waking infant a robe

Now, it’s war so many casualties
Some of my future friend I’ll never see

Against all odds, bush will prevail
But I know your kind, you’ll fail

    All amendments and ratifications
Don’t affect the streets and this impending situation

Situation of real men, blacker than electronics
Trying 3 times what it takes to get this phonics

The chronicle don’t speak of people’s dreams and the symphonical
Crying tears drop like ashes from laced sticks bionicle

Speak of the streets, chasing celebrities, trying to flash time in they faces
We don’t grow killers, it happens in faces

    so deep spokeman
    seeing and feeling
    that road...
    shaking my head
    as the poem unfolds
    what is really there
    indeed a nice drop
    Peace
