Black People Politics : Afrikan Liberation Day asks: Is Obama Black Power?

Thanks for that. In the early 90s I taught in Lynwood when the girls b-ball team was winning state championships and I coached track in the elementary to middle school division (youth age 6-14). A lot of our kids ran in the Hersheys and ARCO/Jesse Owens meets such as Kareem Kelly (CA State champ in 200m)

Our kids went on to Dominguez, Lakewood, LB Polly, Artesia and Lynwood HS, just to name a few.

'Those were the days'.

Peace.

Who would've thought Obama would come as far as he has? I really like him. One of the best reasons I like him is because Obama seems to have a strong grip on knowing who he is and appears to be very comfortable with that. I'm not sure why some feel he won't respresent black folks. Of the two nations who created him, it seems evident to me that he prefers the Black. But besides that, he is his own man. Not trying to fit into any one's preconceived expectations of what a black man SHOULD act like, talk like, live like, etc...

I don't know if any of this qualifies the making of a good President. But in my mind, to be a Black man in this White world and love your black self... and love your black wife... and father your black daughters...
THAT'S BLACK POWER!

What a series of perfect examples of how to highjack a thread and splatter spam all over it.

Nowhere have I ever disrespected anyone elses threads anywhere, by purposely disregarding it's original topic/subject matter.

I do at least try to deal with the poster as having maybe a legitimate concern....if I decide to chime in.

What has any of the above gibberish got to do with Afrikan Liberation Day?

Or is the intent of the outside gibberish to disrespect it too?
