The American dream is not all it is cut out to be and some Africans are turning their backs on life in the US.

Frustrated by tough economic times in the United States, Sammy Maina is packed, ready and waiting to return to Kenya.

"I'm fed up and finished with the US," declares Mr Maina, 33, owner of a prepaid calling card firm, Myaatel, and a money transfer company, Doubles Xpress, that caters for African immigrants.

But with money scarce because of the recession, fewer and fewer immigrants can afford to purchase his international phone cards or pay to use his money transfer services.

"People here don't have money any more," complains Mr Maina, who says the "American Dream" of a big house, flashy car and piles of money was unrealistic.

Instead he found long hours, little pay and limited joy.

Life in America is so demanding, says Mr Maina, that it has cost several of his African friends their marriages and even led some to commit suicide.

"It is very difficult right now and so many people are packing and going back to Kenya in big, big numbers."

and that will happen in England as well, but then again England has a class system that gives folks with education and money the illusion of priveledge,

wthout the overt racism that we face here

But in terms of the US what would any one Black expect to get better then in their own Black nation in foreign predominantly white nation with a history of enslaving their sisters and brothers, and still maintains institutional racism, and long heald policies of white supremacy???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????:SuN008:

Those 25 million of us who have no

Run "back home to see family and friends again" and familiar faces, adn familiar places

and have come here in chains, will be here to create our own viable survival and prosperity

So when folks return to the Motherland from Kenya and Nigeria, I hope they have the spirit and mindset of a famous decendant of slaves called Dr Khalid Muhammed

and be ready to fight the new neocolonialism,

that will not stop at Libya, Somalia and Cote D'Ivoire, but will spread across the continent,

the same way that we had to fight and die in the 60s and 70s , so that others of African descent can immigrate here and have some freedom from the economic deprevation we went through,

before the Black Power Movement and the Civil Rights movement

:qqb007:My neighbor told me his daughter thinks he is emotional or angry, becuase he tells her to do her homework or clean up her room, because her best friend gets away with doing neither.

But if any one cannot feel the winds of the economic Katrina that is about to hit Black communities all over the planet,

and that there will be no white enclave to hide in

I dont know what to do for them Amnat:qqb002:
