Land grabbing is defined as the practice of buying or leasing large pieces of land in developing countries by domestic and international companies, governments worldwide and wealthy individuals. This is and has been a practice of exploitation that hurts natives of that particular nation because it robs the people of resources they could profit from.

Africa is the most resource continent on the planet by far, which should translates to wealth for all the it's citizen. Africans are not poor, they are being taken advantage of unscrupulous leaders and modern day colonialism.

...The Continent is a different school of politics all the way around. It seems that political corruption or appropriation reigns no matter the color of the leader or whether it is a Colonial Power, a rebel force or organized politics. Africa has ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT and they are closely tied to nations that America is not so we here have that basic difference in vision. It's troubling, but it is evolution.

...I feel helpless for the continents historical and internal situations

...Africans in leadership will get paid for resources for their country, but in many cases not nearly enough in the long term. Because development is needed so much, Africans many time lose out monetarily in the long run. It's not all about outside exploitation...sometimes it is about experience or lack of it!

Most of these Africans leaders that are selling out the Lands have in a sense been " made an offer they can't refuse" if you know what I mean.
...sure do...African people development is at great odds with the politically able Educated class, so the people don't really count except as labor or population credits. The reasoning is...what will these people do with money except get drunk?

AID IS IMPERIALISM DISGUISED.
NGO's LOANS and GRANTS UNDERMINED THE POLITICAL RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE PEOPLE AND THEIR POLITICIANS.

Here is how I see after a while these leader wake up and realize they have been played for the fool.
The problem is if they confess and try to make amends, factions in their country will use the law to crucify them.
Those factions will easily have gain the support of the original puppet master...who will demand this action
Whilst promising power and continued support to their now to be new vassel or lackey....soon they too will be compromised.

Museveni of Uganda is currently in this position and so he must hang on to power for his dear life
Kagame of Rwanda is still lost but there is the possibility he will awake
Quattara of Ivory Coast seems to be hopelessly lost.

African intelligentsia in these Nations need to set up organizations and institutions to confront these issues so that leaders who are compromised can be safely extricated.
