at least somebody appreciates it.. I found a lot of appreciation for African artistic expression in Japan especially.. It's a shame that black folks in the
US are so ashamed of their own connection to Africa.
There is a huge demand for ANY form of authentic black/african expression in japan- they crave that stuff over there.. a Japanese girl once told me people in her country get so deep into the reggae/dance-hall culture, women and men spend up 700dolllars to get their hair twisted into permanent locks...
dem people ain't got no rhythm....
the woman wearing the traditional african dress has very good rhythm..
You think African dance isn't appreciated in the US? It may be true that some Black folx are ashamed of their connection, but its also true that many aren't.
Real African Dance in America
This is the real African Dance. Held here in Tulsa, these dance classes are to teach African Culture, History and more.
But they are picking up on that rhythm very fast.
