Hey fellow poets, this is my first poem posted since I been back. Hope ya'll enjoy!

    Advocate For Love

I never tried to control love
    Only wanted to console love
I just wanted to steer it in the right direction
Be its protection like God to His children
Release it from the judgement it was held in
And pick it up from the hole that it fell in
Just to wrap it in a safer box
Because everytime it talks, it's still so unorthodox
Still so misunderstood that the entire Earth rocks
So to keep it settled, love needed a role model
A messenger from a bottle, trying to force love to be simple
All I planned was to be its mentor, not a worker of miracles
I represented love, a dented love
An emotion with a life of its own
A feeling that just tries to find a home
So I tried to give love to the black community
But they just dressed it up with the materialistic
I tried to give it to the white community
But all they did was try to mess with its genetics
I tried to direct love to the music industry
But it told me love wasn't put into music anymore
It's not commercial enough, too much controversial stuff
I tried to teach it humility, so I introduced it to poverty
But the poor only tried to sell it to gain personally
I tried to teach it establishment, so I tried the rich
But they only intoxicated it with drugs and hidden tricks
To build experience, I got love a job working for minimum wage
But it realized that those jobs are the hardest to do
While others get rich doing something that they don't have to
I tried to teach it leadership, so I took it to the president
He sent it to Iraq then brought it back, because it was too sensetive
So I took it to the church
But even there, it started to hurt
It said there was too much tension in the air
And that a place of happiness has easily turned into a space of despair
So after we left there, I showed it the countryside
But the view only showed racism that was obvious
The city wasn't too different, it showed racism that hides
I tried to introduce it to the young generation
But they only twisted it into sexual temptation
I tried to seclude into the older civilization
But they thought it was a waste of conversation
Tried to give it to the women, but they collared it
Tried to give it to the men, but they only slaughtered it
It was hard to find a place for love
Even though it was so popular
Imitated among men and women, adults and children
While the real thing tries to find a healer
Through all of the greed, evil, selfishness, and facades
I just decided to give love back to God
Who will always stand in it
I returned love to its creator
Because obviously Earth just can't handle it

Well since I'm the first to respond. I will set the precedent and say that reading this has quenched my thirst for poetry. This poem is like Gatorade and I feel filled with energy after asorbing every drop of this tight creation through my eyes and into my mind. Es Excellente y Magnifico!

    a shame isn't it

that the hu-man can't show more universal love

yes poet i felt you every word your inner cry

love is a dangerous four letter word when not understood or applied properly

    i what love applied correctly

    and not to the abnormal

    peace

To think that one would have to work so hard to give what everyone says that they are truly seeking...love. You penned each instance of the struggle, so intricately, and with the last few lines you brought it all home. You mastered this scribe.
