Adjectives
Today I’m tired of Adjectives
I’ll neither be lonesome nor gregarious.
Neither will I be black or green.
In fact today I’ll just be me.
I’m almost free from the paws of the beast.
Who gave it the right to modify me?
To devour my essence to fatten it’s flesh
And chase me longer than death himself.
Today I stopped running and I faced the beast.
I walked bravely into his jagged teeth.
Now I see despite the pain of the feast,
At the end of the day I’ll just be me.
