*just tryin' my hand at abstraction heah family...*

The dog comes when you whistle
    finally each envelope shows your
    name peeking through the little
    window
    when the phone rings
you don't wonder whom they seek
    nor where the old towels
    are tossed
    tucked in the dresser
    beneath the drawer of
    undergarments
every article accounted for - once
    sometimes the lid on the
    mayonnaise jar is too tight
and you think it would be nice
you think wind is at eaves again
    losing the moment
    to draw shades against
    the autumn
but as it turns out your hands are
    more than glas
    still attached at all
    a miracle
