The term Southern Hospitality must have come from our ancestral roots,
and an African cultural trait that slavery could not remove from us.

No where will you see an experience such honest and sincere family love,
then from the sisters and brothers from the Motherland.

They always give a warm greeting and smile when they see you, and if they have not seen you for a while, they will ask how you have been

must be different in NYC than in philly.........

I don't know what part of NYC he's referring too, but he sure ain't talking about Harlem, or the Bx. Unless he's referring to when you are at one of their stores or buying something from them at one of their tables/booths on the streets or the sisters on 125th or other salons sitting outside smiling, trying to get you to come in and let them braid your hair. In that case, yes, they always smile and greet you, but is it normal across the board...no! For the most part they look down their noses at us, as jamaicans do.
