Although it's been a year or so,
Both of my parents still think of me.
On the basis of convenience, I was
Raped of life by cold steel forceps.
This 'tissue', their son, struggled for his last breath.
    In saline waters,
On the burning waves of death,
No one understood why I still wanted my mommy.:(

This definitely grabs the reader's attention, from the viewpoint of what would have been.

A-Answer me God,,do you forgive me or not
B-Better to know now,, then go to hell where its hot
O-Other than myself I had nothing to give
R-Rather than struggle I didn't let him live
T-Tired of crying and wanting God to speak
I-I'd rather just die, I've grown tired and weak
O-Oh how my heart hurts, My burdens I wish God would lift
N-Now I've done an awful thing, I've taken God's most precious gift

i almost cried reading the piece
for the pain u brought me back to
i don't even like to hear the word
never heard it from the baby's point and view

    and God does forgive!!
but people don't and that is sad
people are in pain and all they recieve is condemnation
Is one sin greater than the other?
If the BIBLE reigns true, a lie is the same as killing.
Many people in the bible were murderers
    adulterers etc.

Thank you poets for reading me. Yes, this is a different angle than what was expected, but nonetheless it is real.

Monad, I read your arostic response. Very heartfelt and so well written. Please continue to develop this style of poetry writing because you are very good at it in that you have a strong emotional connection with your inner self.

I don't know if you were writing from personal experience of as a poet who placed her feet in the shoes of someone who has had an abortion. However, this is where a lot of women are, yet there is forgiveness. There is freedom from guilt. I know for myself. Maybe I didn't have an abortion, but I did carry the guilt of selling illegal drugs (pot) to teens for my own selfish reasons. Through Christ and the work He did on the cross, I received forgiveness of my sins when I gave my sinful heart to Him. Through prayer and reading the bible, deliverance came for me. He will do this for anyone...He is no respecter of persons.

    Thanks for reading me

Yes! God certainly forgives. :) Thanks for taking the time to read. Might I add, there are many people like myself who have a heart of compassion for women who have gone through this. You are right, sin is sin is God's eyesight. However, one must realize that some sins carry a greater consequence than some of the others.

My Niece's Testimony Of God's Love And Forgiveness.

My niece has had two abortions. The first abortion was encourgaged by a local organization called Planned Parenthood. They told her that it was not a baby but just tissue. Therefore, she had no guilt at making a decision to go ahead and have an abortion. Well the abortionist in Pensacola did his job, however, he was not through and left some of the birthing material in my niece. To make a long story short, my sister barely got her to the hospital in time. She was in excruiating pain. They said had she been a hour later in getting to the hospital she would have died. My niece suffered much, but 3 years later she was in the same perdicament again. However, she did not want to go to an abortion doctor because of her bad experience. So she decided since she already had 5 children and was only 25, that she would handle this abortion differently. Someone told her that she could drink (I'm not telling) a certain concoction that will cause her to go into labor. She made the concoction and drinked it. Before long she was in full blown labor. She sat on her toilet, waiting for the "tissue" to pass and it did...two babies...yes twins. She saw for the first time with her own eyes, what she had done...that it was not tissue but life.

For 2 years, we (my sister and I) tried to convince her that God forgives when you ask, but she could not bring herself to ask. But guess what...about a year ago, somebody else came over and invited her to come to church. It was there that she asked God to forgive her. Her life has been radically changed. She is not the same person she was before. I'm sharing her testimony because that's what she is doing...telling women that they don't have to be burden down with guilt anymore, because love covers a multitude of sins. Love is powerful. That's why I stressed the last line of the poem, the way I did...

No one understood why I still wanted my mommy.

In the midst of all that his mommy was allowing, he still wanted her. What a love and this is the same love that Jesus has for us. In the midst of our sin, He still wants us...He still loves us.

Romans 8:1 1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Romans 8:6 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

    Goodness sister

This is an eye and mind opener. I don't care how many kids I get pregnant with I'll keep my child, even if I was raped. I know in my heart that God gives the blessing of LIFE and God blesses LIVES, just think of the potential that could have been but wasn't given a chance. To me Life is a gift and I will always honor that miracle.

    This was very deep, :thanks:

    Monad.poetress,
what a reply sister. This was very heart touching.
