    A World Gone Bad

    We cannot buy our safety
    We cannot influence sanity
We are unprepared for those obsessed with their right
    Their network
    Their will

    We are only beginning
    Factions’ hell bent on destruction
While the innocent pay the price
    After today
    Unexpected death
    Will forever be expected

    Illogical ideology
    Fueled by cultural hatred
Perpetuated by inept attempts at peace
    There will be no peace
    There is no love

Watching black smoke fill the New York sky
I watch a way of life threatened
    I do not wonder why
    I know

    The world clock ticks louder
    Yet painfully slower
    Its inner spring unwinding
Soon all that will be left is nothing
    Capitalism
    Intolerance for others
    The sad and painful legacy
    Of a world gone bad
