I saw a light this morning
Quickly accending through the windy city sky
Looking through the light I saw a face
The face of a man smiling
    I wondered why

    I stared a bit longer
    Trying to understand
    Why was he smiling?
    This heaven bound man

Through his smile I saw his life
A life on earth that has come to an end
    Hardworking
    Loving
    Father
    Grandfather
    I knew to many
    This man was a friend

    This man in the light
    Was deeply loved
I could tell by the trail of stardust left in the trail
    True to his style
    The light made several passes
Dropping the dust on loved ones who cry
Part of his way of saying goodbye

He smiled because he was loved
I knew this man was never alone
The love of others will always be with him
In his well deserved and peaceful new home

    BE

    This is so beautiful...

There is nothing like these expressions, these gifts of love in our times of need. It is uplifting to not only Rich and his family, but all of us.

    Thank you for this, Poet.
