    A Victim (of Love)

    Attraction
    Gnawed at me

    Chemistry
    Pulled my strings
    ‘Til
    Opportunity Knocked
    …at my door

    Its kiss…Deep
    Sensual

    Unrestrained passion
    Wouldn’t allow me to
    Stifle
    My actions

    Walls relaxing
    …Crashing
    Saw me catching
    Feelings
    As
    Emotions
    Tipped the scales
    And I started
    F
    A
    L
    L
    I
    N
    G

    I could feel the
    Free fall
    Of body and soul
    As heart gave way to
    An age-old
    A-F-F-L-I-C-T-I-O-N
    Called love

    ~ A victim…I was

    Its seduction…sweet
    Complete

    Desire overwhelmed me

    Blind

    I could not see
    To comprehend my
    Captivity

    ~ A victim

    ‘Twas
    Supposed to be
    A wondrous thing

    The attraction

    The reaction

    The joy it did bring

    I’d dream
    The day awake
    And sing
    The night to sleep

    With each moment
    My soul grew weak

    Weak

    Now…I weep

    Sleep refused to take me
    Joy did forsake me

    ~ A victim

    Grasped

    By a
    One-sided affair

    I

    F
    E
    L
    L

    ~ Victim
    To its touch

    Pimped by a weak heart
    Love played me

    Snatched me off my
    Safe perch

    Illustrated its
    De-valued worth
    Through
    Touching moments

    An excited heart

    Gentle stirrings
    Of emotional highs

    Cries

    Intimate discoveries
    Within a lover’s embrace

    I tried

But love wouldn’t let me stay

    ~ A victim

    Sucked in by the
    Giddy fresh blend
    That escorted
    “Hello”
    To my front door

    I wanted more

    But I didn’t know
    Or, did not understand
    The depth and toll
    “I love you” could span
    ‘Til emotions crept
    Into my deepest recesses
    Through all the joy
I “thought” I was blessed with
    Couldn’t find a home
    With whom to share
    No touch
    No smile
    No loving care

    But,
    I dare …
(To be a victim no more)

    I was
    On my own
    Surrounded
    By the walls of my
    Four-cornered home

    Utterly alone

    ~ A victim

    Blessed by attention deficit woes
    That wouldn’t let me go

    Nobody knows
    The depths of my pain
    …The abuse I gained
    Since love came my way

    Catching feelings
Wasn’t the name of her game
    “Insane”
    Is what she called me
    “You don’t know me,”
    She said

    And…I didn’t

    She had skills
    And a certain fame
    But “I do”
    And “Forever”
    Weren’t a part of her
    G A M E

    Left me in disbelief
    Never to return
    AGAIN

    I mean
I was trained in the art of
    Love and romance
    The things done between
    Woman…and man

    Yet…I was
    ENGULFED

    By the sting of lust
    ‘til resentment released me
    From the pain of its
    Tug

    I rejected love
Tossed it back into the sea
    Had no one to share
    My excitement
    With me

    I let it be

    The attraction
    Became a distraction
    And her reaction
Wasn’t conducive to the songs we sang

    Joy stopped its reign

    That crevice in my soul
    Began to close

    I knocked

    I knocked

    But it wouldn’t let go

    Had to attend to heartache
    And desertion, once mo’

    I know.

    ~ A victim
    No mo’

    THANKS $$RICH$$

we've all been a victim, at one time or another, to the pains of love. but, everyday, we wake to the hope, and possibility, of the giddy-fresh...always searching for that special someone.
