The veil has so many meanings metaphorically used through the ages by writers of truth and fiction to encompass all life's stages. That veil can symbolize a start, a birth, a beginning. It can also be defined as death, the end, the final inning. Not just a foreshadowing, this veil can be a shadow of what we'll see. Appearing as a mere image of what should be, or could be. Often used as tinted rose colored glasses, the veil can skew that which appears crystal to the masses. It's said that those born with a veil are enabled to see future visions. I was born to one with this gift. I pray it helps me make wise decisions. The veil could disguise how the world sees you, distorting the face, so you cannot label the features, creating a blameless, nameless race. Just imagine, being seen for who we truly are inside. Not for the one who snatched your purse, or stole your ride. I don't represent the many, I don't represent the few, I just represent my da** self, just like you. You, who say that I'm less just because my hue is darker. You, who lives to bury me in a grave without a marker. You, who say I'm not dark enough to really tell. Treat me like one of you, til I tell you to go to he** You, who wear that veil like the cloak of the Klan. Can you spot a white supremacist? I sure as he** can. I can wear that veil too, but unlike you, I simply wear it you see to accentuate the beauty in me. Thank you Destee book chat poets for being the muse in this. You were the wonderful inspiration for this poetic creation.
