flowers mark the outline of my street
but they don't shine with beauty
Cause every tree by me speaks gloomy
    Cause every flower is artificial
And the tree just marks where that person last stood before they were murdered brutally
    It's crazy

That the tree is just a place marker
That marks a crash, beating, or murder
It ain't pretty, like in that white folks poetry
Cause when a leaf falls its just a memory
Of some knucklehead buster that got shot over money
Or some little kid that was taken so early
Ain't no colors on the leafs where I come from
They all green and when they supposed to turn colors in fall it aint none
The leaves just fall cause when a soul finally leaves and the neighborhood forgets why the shirts were even there, another place marker comes
At the same tree never the less
    The situation is a mess

That a tree is just a place marker
A marker that I walk under every day to shield the sun from my eyes
Never know who died there but recently it was lil Akeem
Who was playing with his lil cousin when his life was redeemed
He was by the porch but only made it to this tree before he never saw earth again
But its all good I reckon
Lifes never easy when its beckoned

Cause a tree is just a place marker........(not finished......I got brain freeze lol)

Gee, what a metaphor... Your images are gripping, you still have that poetic way of posing the real deal. Waiting for more...

Needless to say, that tree alone is more than enough to freeze a brain!! ...wow, it may help to uproot that tree and plant a rose.
