According to Ancient traditions:
The Story Teller says, "Someone told this story to me -- I am not it's author!"
The Audience says, "Tell it, Tell it!"
Then the Story Teller proceeds:
Along the banks of the Nile, quite a bit of time ago, a Spiritual Womban was walking and communing with the Divine Eternal Essence:
"Great Spirit, I would like to know what Good and Evil are like."
The Divine Spirit led the Womban to two doors.
One of the doors opened and the Womban looked in. In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew, which smelled delicious and made the Womban's mouth water.
The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles that were strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful. But because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths. . .
The Spiritual Womban shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering.
The Divine Eternal Essense said, 'You have seen Evil.'
They went to the next door and opened it. It was exactly the same as the first one. There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the Spiritual Womban's mouth water. The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking. The Holy Womban said,'I don't comprehend. . .?'
The Great Spirit gently stated, 'It is simple. It requires but one skill. You see the healthy ones have learned to feed each other, they live Ujima -- collective work and responsiblity! The greedy think only of themselves and are therefor void of Life's regenerative Grace.'
When The Great Mother Earth brings forth her life sustaining fruits, vegetables and her skies rain down showers; when The Great Father Sun shines his light to feed and sustain The Great Mother Earth -- They are thinking of, Sharing with you! It's estimated 93% won't forward this. If you are one of the 7% who will, forward this with the title 7% -- Ujima!
Know that I will ALWAYS share my spoon with you!
Wishing you all a VERY healthy, prosperous and United 2008! Remember, everything is possible with Maat -- Truth, Reciprocity and Love!
