    I was a slave in a cave
    When one day a master
    Came to save me…

    Sleeping deeply, comatose
I didn’t see HIM coming or going
    But HE was so close…

    What I felt was something
    shaking me
    Breaking the sleep…
    Just shaking me-
    Making me wake up…

    HE said, “Get up!
Wake your brotha & sistah next to you
    And walk my way…”
I do what HE tells me to
tired of being ruled by shadows
    In HIS way I follow
To see the light of a new day…

En route to make the escape
I maneuver through what smells like manure
    Yet happens to be
    A heap of dead bodies
    That look like me
    Stale, foul scent of death
    Seeping from every pore
    Dead silence…

Did we die of some plague,
    Natural disaster, violence?
    No movement- complacency
    Remnants of a people left
    Not all of a sudden
Was in the making for over 400 years…

    I wept many, many tears
As I rolled over another and another
Finding myself face to face with my brother
    Breathing, but not awake
I shake him, to wake him- so he escapes too…

Like babies we crawl & sometimes fall
From time to time our vitals start to crash
    And we ignite mouth-to-mouth resuscitation
In the form of conversations and regular visitations
    To Torah, Gospel and Qur’an
    Then there is life!…

    The All-Powerful, All-Knowing
Is intervening, pouring out HIS Spirit
Causing sons & daughters to prophesy
We experience transformation before your very eyes
Standing & speaking bold in truth
    That we’re here is proof…

    Our very breath is testimony
We seek harmony & oneness w/THE MOST HIGH
    Following in the footsteps of
    Moses, Jesus, Muhammad
    Representing as Abraham’s seed
    This is the moment indeed…
To be en route, making the escape
    Are you AWAKE ??!!!

    peace
