    The gift of trust
    is a gift divine
    your trust is precious
    and so is mine
    if I gave my word
what more do I have to give?
    doing my damnedest to have
integrity, this is how I live
What are we, if our word
    doesn't mean anything?
    What kind of honor does
    lies and insincerity bring?
Drama not befitting to any Nubian
    queen or king
It lessens us to mere playwrights
    and performers in a play
Writing scripts of deceit, orating words
with no meaning behind what we say
And let's not forget, the audience. Glued to
their chairs, clinging upon every word.
Parked in the front row, or in nose bleed seats
gasping at the drama that they've heard
You even have that heckler, whose joy in life is to try
and make a tragedy comical, no matter how absurd
    Life is not a d a m n e d three penny opera
or some modern day Nickelodeon awaiting critique
I am awaiting the truth behind the words
Yes, this is what I seek
for I stand behind the words that I speak
If a person's word is not their bond
can you trust anything that they say?
Isn't trust a must in any relationship? I don't claim to have
all the answers, so I'm asking some damned questions, okay?
    What is trust?
Is a person's word their bond?
If you can't trust a person's word, should we say they are just...
playas, or simply just played out? Or just so scared of life and love
that they'd rather believe a lie than honest words that were spoken?
Choosing to believe some fictitious fairy tale
and render their own nontrusting heart broken?
It seems I have more than a few questions about trust poets of destee
    yes, trust and integrity
    So, please feel free
    to flow along with me...

Waz- There are more answers that each reader can create than asked by the questions created by your scribe. And to bring that out requires talent. Good job Poet, HH

As I read this piece I am drawn further and further into it. I find my trust being completely in the hands of the writer. As a invitation to the flow just a brief chance to go into the mind of the writer as I enjoy the flo...

I love this flow.. Time to be Honest...

Trust used to matter in a hand shake. Trust was the word to another you make. I'll be there. I'll do that. I will come for you boo. So today what does trust mean to you? It means concrete. I need. I want you to follow thru. To do the things you promised to keep true. Now you must look to see what is in the other hand. Maybe a knife to do Ceasr is your weapon of choice.

This is the origin of a hand shake. To see if your adversary had something hiding. Now they tuck it in the small of their back. So have them turn around and do a strip search. Now they think you are wack.

    The gift of trust
    is a gift divine
    your trust is precious
    and so is mine
    if I gave my word
what more do I have to give?

Nothing but your word to back you up. Then you have those who still are doubting Thomases and say continue to prove you I can trust.

What are we, if our word
    doesn't mean anything?

We become nothing more than flies, landing from lie to lie. Frrustrated every time after the lie to try. To get support. To garner friends. To find the lie you started will haunt you in the end.

I will never forget what you said! Replay. the recording.. almost ver-batum.. and I get accused of nit-picking.. and being unforgiving. I'm not I just never forgot.

    What kind of honor does
    lies and insincerity bring?

Lie to me you have no honor. Admit you siad it and I can trust your trying to be honest. They say a elephant has memory that never forgets. Then I may be that animal that will hold you to your word till the day I rest.

I give everyone 100% credit, and they work down to zero. Then there is non. Climbing back in my book, may be very tough and no fun. I can be harsh. I can be persistant. I'm not looking to win. No more than to trust I can place in your hands. My riches. My life. My family. This MAN!

I won't throw it in your face. I will remind you of what you said and had me believing when I let you in my head.

If a person's word is not their bond
can you trust anything that they say?
Isn't trust a must in any relationship? I don't claim to have
all the answers, so I'm asking some damned questions, okay?
    What is trust?

T = The Time I listened and was concerned.
R = The Responsibility that is yours to discern.
U = US the conversation and the agreement we made.
S = The Seriousness of taking me for my word and you for yours.
T = The End if you don't do as promised or make an honest effort to
    explain.
    Make it believable.

Hodee, too bad a simple hand shake won't quite cut it huh? No one is 100% trust worthy. But intention means a whole lot, and I figure you at least have to be working towards that end, most of the time. And I agree, if you at least admit you lied, that means that your intentions are good. Loved your flow off the word "trust", you truly got to the heart of the word. It was kind of you to take the time to respond to this piece in depth brotha, I appreciate that truly.
