Through the Poet’s ink many stories are told
Through the Poet’s ink mysteries of the mind unfold
Through the Poet’s ink one can share their soul

Exposing the soul is no easy task
The Poet out there, all alone
    Hands tied behind their back
    There is no mask
Therefore, so unlike a Poet to inquire of another
    Meddling in personal affairs
    Discussing a Poet’s work undercover

The art is free, a gift from above
    Should it really matter
    If the poet chooses
    To write of sex
    To write of love?

    Does the art mean more?
    Does the art mean less?
    A Poet writes
    They do not confess

Interpretation is left to the reader
The poet glad to be rid of the emotion attached
    Unbecoming is another Poet
    Playing mix and match

Poets are like babies and old folks
Sometime very hard to figure out
Sad should they live and die by their work
I don’t believe that’s what poetry is about

Poets choose to share their soul
By what is written publicly with their soul’s private ink
It’s the words born in a Poet’s heart
Not necessarily what a Poet thinks

BE--I'm still enjoying the book. I can't help but be excited for you because it is excellent. I'm trying to get my sister and her friends to get in line and get a copy--Ra
