    Behold . . .
these words are the manifestation of my soul,
the tangible written scrolls of a story I never told,
    painting images so cold
I use frozen watercolor brush strokes,
“colored”ligraphy depicting the misery of my folks.
Bronzed footnotes emphasizing the wounded cadence of Kunta’s run,
a deficiency of imagery far too complex to be undone
by just the worship of GOD’s son and blind faith without self-reliance,
it’s this selfish science that renders 85% of us blinded.
Wearing designer shades of rose-colored ignorance,
hiding confident behind “Each one Teach one” sentiments.
But if each one teaches one, what’s exactly being taught?
Especially when most of our leaders are being bought,
pimping the struggle and refinancing the revolution,
causing me to believe the cause I believe in has an untapped solution.
When did civil rights become one big rainbow bowel movement?
The batty bwoy dem adopted and now exclusively use it.
Once again our goals have been pushed to the back burner,
covered, and placed on low to simmer,
“keep their mind occupied yet docile and they’ll scarcely remember.”
Du Bois speaks on “double consciousness” relating to people of color,
but you’d have to possess a single consciousness before you have two to fight over.
Are we really making progress, or progressively failing?
I carefully decode prose steadily and aggressively unveiling
the hidden agenda of the historical truth benders,
    so my future descenders,
are taught with spiritual forethought and nothing to hinder.
I pen these thoughts for the unborn kings and embryotic empresses,
with intense emphasis on cultural significance.
“NOW READ IT ONEMOGAIN, AND SEE IF YOU CAN REALLY COMPREHEND”
    . . . a poem.

This causes us to ponder, are all the steps we're taking moving us forward, or are we slipping back? Well written, thought provoking piece. So nice to read you again poet.
