I sat down to write
And found I was wordless/dutiful
From the promise I made to you
To remain silent

You
Who condemned my joy
Took my words
And made them foul

Made me wordless
My pearls fell through my hands
And rolled away
Faster than I could chase them

I prayed for my gift to return
So now I wake in the night
Words coming together like
Freight trains colliding

Then I prayed for sleep
And upon rising
Forgot all
Except my promise to you

With life coming undone
I find that my pearls
Are but just a few things
That have slipped through my fingers

:crying: indeed sister
this was so beautiful
in all its pain
"yeah...I think we've been hangin out at the same hotel"
the imagery of the pearls falling and rolling away
nearly had me in tears
aaah...my sister, I pray for brighter days
for the both of us...
Sending you some hugs...
despite your discontent
...you can still write some awesome poetry

Love you...
