In the garden of my body
    I grew myself a son
A tiny little part of me
    Someone I could love
    A long time ago

    In the garden of infancy
    I watched him grow
    A child so precious
    I loved him so
    A long time ago

    In the garden of childhood
    I let him roam free
    I watched as he learned
    And grew independent of me
    A long time ago

    In the garden of youth
    He grew away from me
    Becoming a stranger
    No longer my baby
    A long time ago

    In the garden of life
    Drugs took control
    Destroying his mind
    His heart and his soul
    A long time ago

    In the garden of death
    I buried my son
    We'd lost the battle
    The drugs had won
    A long time ago

In the garden of my heart
    Not one thing grows
    From my babys grave
    I kept one perfect rose
    A long time ago

    Kitana........

You have a gift to bring the visible vision to the mind
In this day and time it is a fear and a reality that is all to real............the lost of a child.
    To the streets.

    ****

    So'ja knows pain

    and this is pain

    why?

is one hell of a question?

    why?

but strength is gained from pain

    probably the only positive

Rich..thank you for the read and the words...and I agree, the sad truth is, that this is a reality for too many...and too many think they can control their habit, but most times it's the other way round....

Epiphany..thank you and yes, drugs are a war that too many fight against and lose....heartbreaking...

DSSNY...I think like most bad habits, people make the mistake of thinking they can "handle" drugs and quit any time they like...by the time they realise the truth, it is already too late...thanks for the read and the words...much appreciated

    Kitana,

This is so sad and reality for so many people..... I have a son and everytime he leaves the house I pray for God to watch over him and give him the clear mind and strenght to continue to JUST SAY NO! and not give in to peer pressure. It's a whole new kinda world out there from when I was a child.
