    A Kiss

To you I never really did exist
All I ever really wanted was a kiss
And I’m ashamed to admit this

But I never even got it
    Maybe you just forgot it
Wait, I’m kidding myself that is not it

The reason is not real complex
The only thing that you wanted was sex
And when you got it you moved on to the next

You got me standing here feeling like a fool
Cause I went and broke my own rule
Didn’t think that you could be so cruel

You see a kiss is suppose to symbolize affection
But I guess we never really had that connection
You can’t imagine how it feels to get such rejection

There I was thinking it would turn into something more
And now I’m feeling like some kinda whore
As I watch you get up and walk out through the door

Realizing you never even gave me a kiss

Your phrasing was gentle yet the message was delivered powerfully. The romance never occured, because the sex happened too soon in the relationship. I felt the pain in this, and really liked the way you posed it.

I wanted to explain this poem a little bit...it's not necessarily based on me, it's just a poem that describes what happens all too often in society. Us women are giving it up too soon and then we end up playing the fool when he leaves and we are left wondering what went wrong. The problem is we need to open communication lines and start geting to know one another more before we "jump between the sheets". If we give it up too easy or too fast, then whats his reason for staying around (unless he is sincerely interested in you as a person). I'm not sure the age range around here, I am 19, and while this applies to every one, I'm saying specifically for the younger generation... you do not have to have sex to try and save or establish a relationship. Sex SHOULD come AFTER LOVE. And the love should not come, or be faked simply to get the sex. If you have to beg for love, then its not worth it...I know I'm going off on a tangent, so I'ma get back to the main point which is this: Respect yourselves and don't confuse love and sex. They are not synomonous and you CAN have one without the other. Don't think just cause a guy wants to have sex with you that he is interested in YOU. Sometimes he is just looking out for his own ****. Don't fall into the trap, play the game smart...And I'm out. Holla

When all we want is affection,
Somehow we get turned in the wrong direction,
    The highpoint of intimacy,
    Are simply,
    hugs,
    kisses,
    cuddling in sync,
    Somehow some men
    take the way think,
    the things we need,
    and like an agressive animal
    tend to feed,
    Since women like sex too,
    its very easy to do
    But dont feel blue,
    Better have learned now,
    than later,
    on what not to do.

Loved your post.. its been done before.

    Nice piece.
    In relationship to "secret Lovers"
It was written earlier because that was how I was feeling
Only to learn it was not just me he actually loved me too.
A kiss can be the beginning of many things
some which we are ready to accept some which we are not.
I like the way you wrote about it
    and summed it up too
To bad no one got their kiss though :spinn:
