A History of Slavery That 'Has Never Been Told'

... In taking possession of the tale, Baptist exercises the owner's prerogative, bestowing new names on his subjects. He redesignates plantation owners "enslavers" and their cotton farms "slave camps." He redefines physical brutality, both standard overseer fare and more specialized forms of sadism, as "torture" ...

When the population of Ireland was cut by nearly two thirds within a single decade (1641 to 1652), with an estimated 300,000 Irish slaves shipped to the New World to work for English masters and another 500,000 killed outright, that is a reality of history. They were every bit as much slaves as the Africans brought to the Americas.

During the 1650s, over 100,000 Irish children between the ages of 10 and 14 were taken from their parents and sold as slaves in the West Indies, Virginia and New England. In this decade, 52,000 Irish (mostly women and children) were sold to Barbados and Virginia. Another 30,000 Irish men and women were also transported and sold to the highest bidder. In 1656, Cromwell ordered that 2000 Irish children be taken to Jamaica and sold as slaves to English settlers.

And don’t kid yourself. These were not indentured servants who labored for some years and then were set free. They were slaves. Every bit as much as the Africans were slaves. They were slaves who were sent to the Americas to labor and die by the master’s hand, to be seen as property and chattel, not people.

Kudos to you SouthsideIrish you know the history of the Irish although incomplete, but what Cromwell did was murder and enslaved the original Celtic peoples, their mullato and white sympathizers from Ireland, Scotland and Wales (ethnic cleansing). By the time the beast Cromwell was done nearly all the history of the original black peoples of Ireland and Scotland was erased. The English Caribbean nations was awash with Cromwell's slaves and North America was not exempt. This you will not learn in any American schools. http://thesocietypages.org/socimages/2008/10/06/negative-stereotypes-of-the-irish/

Your reactions are very stereotypical whether you realize or not. White people cant even live and let live.
Black people can't even suffer in peace smh. Why does everything with white people have to be a competition? You are not here to support Black people, you are here to mock Black people. This is why I said stereotypical, always trying overcompensate for your low self esteem and insufficiencies.

No matter how hard you try you can't make history into what you want it to be. Yea irish people went thru some things, but Black people have and are still going thru a million times more than what your people did.
Why can't u just sit back and understand why things are the way they are. They didn't get like that yesterday.
So what if you have seen things in chicago that have you feeling a certain way about Black people. Chicago is not the world, chicago is not history.

You see the world thru your narrow vision. LIke when you said Black people shoot themselves over pork chops in chicago, that statement shows you are not sincere, or better yet shows what and who you really are.

You mock Black people while looking the part yourself. I don't expect you to appreciate my statement.
Your comments here continue to support white peoples true nature. You want to be relevant when you are not.
How about just being relevant to your family is that not enough? Or are you not relevant there either?

Black people haven't suffered enough and I'm certain you won't give up until you see more suffering..
