Laughter rings out to the heavens
Birds sing loudly in the trees while still
Others peck at forgotten hot dogs and pretzels.

Lovers walk hand in hand along
    The gilded sunlit waters edge
Gazing into each others eyes and
    Smiling at some shared memory

Children running in and out of cold
    Fountains playing freeze tag
    Begging for firecracker iceys and
    Watching the frequent dance performances

Radios are blasting hip-hop and r&b
From chamillionare to rhianna to the funkadelics
The den of vendors plying their trade heavy,
2 for $20, get your portraits right here.

Spider-man and statue of liberty impersonators
Stop and pose for pictures with tourists
Spidey even jumps on a few 'walls' for the kids

And me in the midst of everyday city life
Camera in hand taking it all in
Enjoying the FREEDOM of it all,
    The simplicities of our exhistence!

Only in NYC can I experience the exhilirahting
Feelings of timelessness, joy and appreciation for life
Like catching the exact moment on a girls face
When her father scoops her up and tickles her.

All while eating a vanilla "Mr. Softee"
That is gently leaking down my hand
With an amazing sunset on the water
Skyscrapers as the backdrop while the
Ferry blows its final farewell for the day...
    Simply bliss.

    are you from NYC?

or did you just move here? or are you from New Jersey lol

the reason why i ask is that most New Yorker's don't say NYC
which is a very very big place (322 square miles)
so what part of "NYC" are we talking

and by the way your poem

    was very very nice

it sounds like you were on 59th st and Fifth ave where central park starts and made your way down to Times Square at some point
